Tara Samiy is a licensed clinical psychologist with special interests in the use and function of non-ordinary states of consciousness, psychosis/madness, spiritual emergence, and culturally sensitive, trauma informed care, as well as somatic/movement healing arts. Her interest in the field of psychedelics led her to a B.S. in Psychobiology from UCLA, after which she was a clinical trials researcher at UCLA. She then obtained a doctorate from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she received the Kranzke Scholarship for Psychedelic Research. She believes it is imperative that we collaborate on ways to raise awareness of the intersection of madness/psychosis and psychiatric harm/incarceration into the psychedelic culture.
