I offer an approach to therapy that helps you explore difficult feelings without judgment and better understand the patterns that shape your life. By listening deeply, I aim to help you make sense of what feels confusing, painful, or stuck and guide you toward inner resources that help you find the path forward.
Many of my clients often come to therapy feeling caught between what they think they should do and what they genuinely desire. This may happen in the context of life transitions, identity changes, relationship and family challenges, creative or existential blocks, or periods of grief. We can work together to explore those tensions and move toward a more integrated experience of yourself.
I work with a psychodynamic, depth, and relational approach, which means we look at your current challenges while also exploring the deeper roots of recurring patterns and beliefs. This can include relationship histories, family dynamics, and cultural or systemic influences. As we understand where these patterns come from, you can begin to experience a greater sense of freedom and choice in your life. I also pay attention to how you might use therapy to not only work on old patterns but also try new, empowering ways of setting boundaries, expressing yourself, and deepening connection with yourself and others. I work collaboratively with you and tailor treatment to your unique individual circumstances and goals.
Clients have described me as warm, grounded, direct, and insightful. I work with adults and couples with a wide range of identities and lifestyles, from conventional to outside the mainstream. I frequently support those from multicultural, immigrant, queer, and neurodivergent backgrounds.
My experiences being Korean American, a daughter of immigrants, and a first generation college student have informed my awareness of cultural complexity and a passion for exploring concerns of loneliness and belonging.
I welcome people from all walks of life and prioritize creating a safe, welcoming environment that helps facilitate the change you are seeking.
