Harm Reduction Group

This is  an eight-week virtual psychotherapy group designed to provide a space for members to talk about the many purposes that drugs and compulsive behaviors may serve, and to gain greater insight into the benefits and challenges of these coping tools.

Group Information

Ever find yourself wondering about your relationship to drugs, alcohol, or compulsive behaviors? Can’t imagine getting through your day without these resources? Come explore your relationship to these with others who are living with some of the same issues as you may be.

You do not need to have a goal of cutting back or stopping your use of  any drug or behavior. Just bring your curiosity about the role they play in your life.

This group is welcome to...

  • All adults in the state of California

Schedule:

8 weekly virtual sessions on Tuesdays between April 18th to June 6th, from 6-7:30pm

Structure:

Each group session will begin with a short centering exercise to ground us in our group context. The content of the group will be generated by group members’ participation and sharing. Our goal is to liberate the barriers that live in each of us and move towards greater connection with ourselves and developing insight into the role drugs, alcohol, and other behaviors play in our lives. We will have the same 3 to 8 members for eight weeks.

Fees:

Sliding-Scale, $30-$100/week, paid via credit card. Payments for all 8 sessions will be made at the start of the group, unless a payment plan is agreed upon ahead of time with the facilitators due to financial need.

(If the fee range above is prohibitive to your participation, we will reach out if a reduced fee spot becomes available.)

About the facilitators:

The group will be facilitated by Brock Schmid, M.A., Doctoral Trainee, and Dr. Perri Franskoviak.
