Code of Ethics & Whistleblower Protection

Adopted and approved by the Board of Directors on July 9, 2021.

The board, directors, staff, and interns at Alchemy Community Therapy Center (formerly Sage Institute) enthusiastically aim to operate to the highest of ethical standards in every facet of the organization. Alchemy takes care not to engage in activities that violate state, federal, or local laws, and strives to be in compliance with all applicable regulations. Alchemy is committed to staying abreast of and aligning with best practices of corporate governance and health care, as they become available and standardized.

Alchemy operates according to its Conflict of Interest Policy and accepts gifts and corporate sponsorship according to this policy: Alchemy does not endorse the mission or activities of its donors or sponsors, and neither sponsorship nor donor support come with any decision-making influence on Alchemy’s activities, or any authority regarding Alchemy’s policies or practices.

We hold ourselves accountable to each individual in our community, and we welcome respectful feedback regarding any concerns. We encourage individuals to reach out in the event of a suspected or actual ethical violation of any kind by reporting it to ethics@alchemytherapy.org, which is checked regularly by three independent (non-staff) members of the Alchemy Board of Directors, or reporting anonymously via this form. The identity of the person reporting will be kept strictly confidential. Serious ethical violations will be escalated to the Board of Directors and, where appropriate, to licensing agencies or law enforcement.

It is presumed that any complaint concerning a suspected violation will be made in good faith and based upon reasonable grounds to believe the information disclosed indicates a violation. Any person who makes allegations maliciously or knowing them to be false will have committed a serious conduct violation.
