I approach psychotherapy holistically integrating mind, body, and spirit. Every therapist has their own unique way of working with people. I draw heavily from liberation psychology framework, which actively engages in and emphasizes historical memory, trauma, and critical reflection, empowering the individual to better understand themselves in the context of our society.

I use a social justice lens in my work, paying close attention to interlocking systems of oppression and how they show up in a therapeutic relationship. The oppressive structures tend to insidiously make their way into our mind, our bodies, and our psyche, and implant themselves as truths and norms. My general orientation is trauma-informed, cultural, and relational. I support people in constructing new and more empowered narratives about their identity and life’s purpose and to reflect on the social context and enable them to move away from a personalized sense of failure.

I’m here to support people who feel suffocated by anxiety, sadness, doubt, self-criticism, grief, isolation, overwhelm, and alienation from their true selves. I was born and raised in India and as an immigrant working across cultural and ethnic borders, I work with people around issues of acculturation, cultural identity development, racism, and internalized oppression. I want you to know that you are not alone; you matter, no matter what you may be going through. I will meet you exactly where you are at and support you in growing towards where you want to go.

I offer a safe, reflective, and collaborative space that will help you cultivate the capacity for feeling and processing all the difficult feelings, and embrace the disavowed parts of yourself. As we co-create our relationship together, we will explore and get curious about how your past shows up in your present, your ways of relating to the world, your belief systems, your adaptive coping mechanisms, your inner wisdom, your socio-political context, and your inner critic. You might even want to talk about what’s going on between you and me and the process. That’s great! When you are feeling something strongly, whatever it is – let’s talk about it.
