Maxx (they/them) became a therapist at Alchemy after completing our 7-week public training. Maxx offers ketamine assisted therapy and ongoing weekly therapy at our clinic.
Maxx has provided mental health care services in a variety of settings, including community-based care, residential, and medical settings to people of diverse backgrounds and various life challenges, with extensive experience supporting clients seeking gender affirming care. In their work, they draw on strengths-based, narrative, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches. As a trained harm reduction psychotherapist, they meet people where they are at and center an empathetic, non-judgemental approach to exploring goals or challenges.
Maxx has also served as a research assistant in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy clinical trials including MDMA for PTSD, and has co-authored research on Psilocybin-Assisted Group Psychotherapy with Long-Term AIDS Survivors.
